Dr. Katie Donohue graduated from medical school at Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine and fellowships in Allergy & Immunology at Columbia University - New York Presbyterian Hospital. When she finished her clinical training, she joined the Columbia faculty, published original translational epidemiology research in peer-reviewed journals, and completed a master’s degree in epidemiology, trial design, and biostatistics. She joined the FDA as a medical officer in 2014 in the Pulmonary & Allergy Division, moved to the inborn errors group as a clinical team lead in 2017, and became Director of the Division of Rare Diseases and Medical Genetics in 2020.
